  bethel life reinforced that, middle aged ego's trying to suck up to brooklyn.

  ray franz book was a final nail for me, because he described the same incompetence along with the same ego's.

  I think it's an own goal in the UK. It was bad enough being reminded that it was essentially an American religion when we just had to listen to the audio of the drama at the district convention annually but now they're piping it into their homes every month?

  I can just imagine what my parents are thinking watching Lett gurning at them from the gogglebox sounding like Forrest Gump's poor relation 😂

  in todays news from australia it appears that, despite his previous declination to appear when invited, justice mcclellan from the australian royal commission on child sex abuse will officially summon brother geoffrey jackson to the stand after all.. ..... the commission was due to conclude its hearings into the jehovahs witnesses on wednesday but justice mcclellan said he will now call geoffrey jackson, a senior member of the churchs governing body in new york who is currently in australia, to appear next week.. .

  I'd pay for advertising at the convention and just put up scriptures and quotes from the literature without comment. Such as the scripture in Deuteronomy about false prophets and the quotes like the one about young people never growing up in this system. That would be so powerful.

  Just a suggestion but you've been registered here for 7 months and have started 12 threads all asking for things. It's usual for people to give at least a little background information such as your connection with the JWs, why you want the books and documents you are requesting, that sort of thing. You may get a better response then.

  with all the talk about the org's policies and failures regarding child sexual abuse being publically exposed in australia, i thought that it may be a good time to highlight this... i apologise if this has already been discussed, but on the 9th of july the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse in england and wales was opened.

  I have contacted them, I hope others do too. Watching the Australian Royal Commission has made me think it's not beyond the realms of possibility for the governments to enforce change.
